09.10.2018 | Will I still receive help from MediStart after having secured my study place?

On request, MediStart supports you during the application and enrolment processes as well as on site during your studies abroad. Our partners abroad help you find an accommodation, register with local authorities, enrol at the university and network with other international students who have been there a while. Our partners are also available 24/7 for any queries you may have, no matter how big or small.

09.10.2018 | I have not completed high school yet. Can I still apply (or can I ideally already be accepted by a university)?

Yes, you can and you should. Some application processes abroad start significantly earlier than in other countries. In the best case the planning starts as early as September/October, or a whole year before the actual start of the degree. Seeing as many universities focus on more than just your grades and work with admission tests and interviews instead, it is possible for you to be accepted by a university before graduating from high school. All you will have to do after you were offered a study place is to graduate from high school. However, even if you apply after graduation, you will still have a lot of options regarding universities. Do not hesitate to contact us.

09.10.2018 | Which deadlines are important for me as an applicant and does MediStart help me to meet these?

MediStart accompanies you throughout the entire application process. Your personal study consultant will prepare every step of the process for you so that nothing can go wrong. We will, of course, take care of deadlines. Important note: Some universities award study places gradually sometimes ahead of the deadlines. It is important to start your application early when all the places at the university are still available. This can significantly improve your chances.

12.05.2020 | What does a placement by MediStart cost and do I really only pay if they are successful?

The costs of studying abroad can usually be broken down as follows:

  • Tuition fees at the foreign university
  • Application fees and expenses
  • MediStart success fee

We will send you an invoice with our full success fee after having obtained a place at a university. You can also terminate our services without providing a reason. In that case you will only be required to pay a reduced cancellation fee. Further expenses may arise, for example for translation, notary or tuition services. Easy, fair and transparent. Our services on the website are meant to address every citizens despite Germans, Austrians and Swiss.

Find out more about the costs here.

09.10.2018 | Can I apply for medical studies abroad, even if I already hold a university degree?

Holders of a previous university degree have exactly the same chances at MediStart partner universities as first time applicants, who still need to obtain their high school diploma. Many foreign universities also work with selection processes, in which a completed degree reflects positively. It is important to apply early (ideally a whole year before the start of the desired degree) in order to plan the application optimally.

09.10.2018 | Do you have a success rate?

Yes, we do. And we are proud of it. Over the last years, MediStart achieved a 100 % success rate at some universities, meaning it successfully placed all MediStart applicants there. This was the case for example with Wroclaw (Poland), Nicosia (Cyprus) and in Rzeszow (Poland). This success rate is not a promise of success of course, mainly because the placement depends on admission tests, interviews etc. However, we are optimistic that this year once again every applicant who meets the requirements and commissions our services on time will be offered the chosen study place.

09.10.2018 | I achieved good but not quite amazing grades at school. I have heard that there was still a good chance of being accepted into a medical degree programme through MediStart. How good are my chances?

Quickly and concisely: Your chances are very good because your high school grades are not the sole decisive factor. Most universities operate based on admission tests, interviews etc. MediStart prepares you for this, partly with the help of tutors at the respective universities. Over the last years, MediStart managed a placement success rate of 100 % at some of its partner universities. This was the case for the courses taught in English by the universities of Wroclaw (Poland), Nicosia (Cyprus), Rzeszow (Poland) and Vilnius (Lithuania). There is no guarantee, of course. However, we are optimistic that, this year again, every applicant who meets the requirements and commissions our services on time will be offered the chosen study place.

12.05.2020 | Do I need to pay for the consultation in person, over the phone or via video chat?

No, the first consultation is always free of charge.

09.10.2018 | How long does the degree last?

Medical degrees generally last six years. Degrees in dentistry and veterinary medicine last an average of five years.

09.10.2018 | Can I also apply to start my degree in the summer semester?

This is currently only possible at the University of Riga.
